We are looking for a motivated, self-driven individual to assist in our restoration/rebuilding shop. Duties and responsibilities will vary according to business needs, but may include, but are not limited to refinishing pianos, disassembly/reassembly of piano actions, and performing general piano shop work and repairs all while under the direction and supervision of the piano technician.
This position is part-time.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Repairs and refinishes pianos using specialized tools and gauges
- Tests components such as keyboards, pedals, and action assembly
- Detaches action mechanism and replaces faulty, work or broken parts
- Examines wooden parts for splits, warps, and other defects.
- Repairs, replaces, resurfaces, and refinishes wooden parts.
- Maintains accurate inventory and maintenance records.
- Performs related work as required.

- Willingness to learn specific methods and techniques related to piano repair, rebuilding, and reconditioning.
- Comfortable working with tools
Education & Experience
Although experience working with pianos is helpful, it is not required. What we do look for and require is a genuine interest in pianos, piano technology, piano rebuilding, piano tuning, woodworking, refinishing techniques, and craftsmanship.
